Search the internet for questions that are asked in behavioral interviews and familiarize yourself with the topics and write them down. It should take about 1-2 hours.
Once you are familiar with common words and have written them down, you should look for stories from your personal life that reflect these themes while highlighting your personal skills. What I found helpful was writing to all the organizations I have been a part of in the past, such as academics, jobs, internships, societies and clubs. Then, for each of these cases, I tried to remember the events where I had to apply my skills to a basic problem. These stories should not be professional and may also be from personal life. If you have trouble recalling events from your life, look at the topics in step 1 and try to recall events that illustrate those specific topics.
Now, once you have collected the stories from your personal life, go through them carefully and assign the words. The same story can have multiple tags/words associated with them. Assigning keywords to them will help you answer the question better during the interview.
