Financial Engineering Masters Programs – Financial technology (FinTech) is an emerging innovation group that has the potential to revolutionize the financial industry, increasing the productivity of financial companies through data science and advanced digital technologies.
Global investment in FinTech has become so active in recent years that the Monetary Authority of Singapore launched an initiative, the FinTech and Innovation Group, and pledged to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to develop the FinTech sector in Singapore.
Financial Engineering Masters Programs
Nanyang Technological University offers a Master’s Degree in FinTech hosted by the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. The curriculum is built on data science, artificial intelligence and information technology and equips FinTech students with the necessary skills to navigate the changing landscape of the financial industry. Students will develop a deep mastery of disruptive technologies in finance, including financial automation (e.g. robo-advisors), financial cryptography (e.g. blockchain technology) and digital financial services (e.g. financial inclusion).
Financial Engineering And Risk Management
The MSc in FinTech program is an intensive one-year full-time or two-year part-time program held over 3 trimesters per academic year. The curriculum has two specializations: Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) and Digital Financial Services (DFS). Courses are held in intensive periods of 7 weeks (ie each term is divided into two parts). All courses are held on weekdays or Saturdays (9:30-13:00 or 14:00-17:30) evenings at the main campus (6:30-10:00pm).
The program consists of a total of 30 academic units (AU), 12 AU from compulsory subjects, 12 AU from elective subjects of the chosen specialization and 6 AU from other elective subjects:
Specialization is selected when applying to the program, and changing specialization is generally not allowed. However, candidates are allowed to submit two separate applications, one for each specialization; In this case, the desired specialization should be indicated in the applications.
The practicum course, MH6838, begins in the third quarter and consists of a research-based project or independent internship where students work on a professional consulting project under the guidance of experienced financial problem solving instructors. The school will help students find internship opportunities. Internship companies that our students have previously attended include GIC, Grab, Julius Baer, Lumiq, DBS, OCBC, UOB, Macquarie Bank, CIMB, etc.
Master Of Quantitative Finance (mqf)
Recommended electives of one major may be unrestricted electives of another major. In addition, students can take the following courses as unlimited electives.
MSc in FinTech Specific changes: Quarterly, the first quarter (originally 13 weeks) has been extended for one more week and the 14th week is our exam week; The second trimester starts a week earlier so the first half of the second trimester (before the two week break around Christmas) is 7 weeks.
