A-SAFE’s long association with Yorkshire Cancer Research began many years ago when the owners’ grandmother became very involved with the charity following her husband’s battle with cancer. He helped establish A-Safe and worked in the business for over 20 years into his 80s. Following his death, we pledged to continue his charitable work and maintain our close relationship with Yorkshire Cancer Research.
This year’s fundraising efforts range from fun seasonal games for Halloween and Christmas to tough physical challenges such as the Pretty Muddy and Great North Run, and even an adrenaline-fueled sky dive! In support of this important cause that helps the lives of thousands, A-SAFE employees made a great effort to donate to this wonderful charity.

I have depression and PTSD and I have researched and written about the way that mental illness is represented in culture, especially in sports, and what it means for sufferers and consumers of cultural goods.
